Professor Mehdi Bennis

Head of the Intelligent Connectivity and Networks/Systems Group (ICON) - University of Oulu

Mehdi Bennis is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Oulu and Academy of Finland research fellow. His main research interests are in radio resource management, heterogeneous networks, game theory and machine learning in 5G networks and beyond. He has co-authored one book and published more than 100 research papers in international conferences, journals and book chapters. He was the recipient of the prestigious 2015 Fred W. Ellersick Prize from the IEEE Communications Society, the 2016 Best Tutorial Prize from the IEEE Communications Society and the 2017 EURASIP Best paper Award for the Journal of wireless communications and networks.

Doctor Yue Wang

Principal 5G researcher at Samsung Electronics R&D Institute UK

Yue Wang is a Principal 5G Researcher, and is currently leading the research of Network AI at Samsung UK. She is the Samsung delegate of ETSI ISG ENI (Experiential Networked Intelligence), and the Secretary and Rapporteur of ENI. She also sits in the Industry Advisory Board of two Universities, and is the industry supervisor of a 5-year research program, all on the area of AI in 5G and beyond.   

Prior to joining Samsung, she held various roles in the US and the UK, and has worked on a number of technical subjects in wireless communications research and standards. Yue received her Ph.D. from University of Victoria, Canada. Yue is a co-author of over 40 papers, and an co-inventor of over 20 patents. Yue is a Senior Member of IEEE.

Professor Yue Chen

Professor of Telecommunications Engineering & Director of Education - Queen Mary University of London

Yue Chen is a Professor of Telecommunications Engineering at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), Queen Mary University of London. She is the EECS Director of Education, responsible for teaching and learning strategies to ensure excellence in student experience and staff development. Yue Chen is a Senior Member of IEEE and an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. Her research interests include radio resource management for 5G networks, cognitive and cooperative wireless networking, small cell and heterogeneous networks, self-organising networks, smart grid and optimisation in IoT networks.
